I hate attending athletic events.
Okay, so you may know that I don’t really get the “sport” thing so much– fine. But I really dislike going to sport events because of the nagging spectators. I understand school-spirit cheering, which is completely acceptable, but I’m talking about really, really annoying people at games.
For example, I have been to two hockey games this semester, and both audiences have followed very similar trends. They yell stupid things very loudly. Here are some real-life examples:
- “GET ON YOUR FEET!” - As opposed to what? “Stay face-down on the ice?” DUH.
- “SHOOT IT NOW!! NOW!!!!” - Okay, so I am going to take a random stab that the hockey players can’t hear you, but in the unlikely scenario that they can , why would they listen to you anyway? “OH! Is that someone in the audience who is telling me to shoot now??! OH OKAY.”
- “GET THE PUCK!” - … No further comment necessary.
- “GET IT TOGETHER! GET IT TOGETHER!” - Another DUH… Who are you? Their coach? NO. So SHUT THE HECK UP. They can’t even hear you.
- “OH GET UP. YOU’RE NOT HURT. STOP BEING SUCH A GIRL.” - Now I am not going to mention how un-PC that comment is… (Haha.) But even so, that’s not whats annoying. How do you know they’re not hurt? And even if you’re right, they (again) probably can’t hear you. And even if they could why on earth would they listen to you and your whine-saturated nagging? SHUT UP. SHUT UP. SHUT UP.
(I am a tough-house.)
Thank you.
I hate attending athletic events.
LOVE,
Rachel
