(Scared to see what awaits for me in the Future… Seriously.)
For those of you who I may have ranted (or cried) to recently, it would be a moderately-extreme understatement to say that I AM CONFUSED.
“Confused about what?” you ask? WELL, here we go:
-Transfer? Or not?
This is a really big one for me. I’m split 50/50. On one hand (this is the NOT-TRANSFER side), Iowa State is a beautiful campus. I have met several very nice people, including an ASIAN (GASP) girl who has the same name as a fruit, a girl who has the name of a STRIPPER (who also is questioning the idea of giving birth), a BFF, and some computer / calc buddies. I know my way around campus, and I’ve already been admitted to the Business school, and I’m in the Honors program. And if I tried hard enough, I could probably graduate early. Oh, and I am also on a scholarship. Transferring would also mean that I would experience being a freshman ALL OVER again. And I would have to say good bye to all of the people in Iowa. HORRIBLE. Also, if I were to transfer, I wouldn’t be able to graduate in 3 years.
On the other hand (this is the YES-TRANSFER side), lets face it: Ames kind of sucks. There is nothing IN Ames, and there is nothing AROUND Ames, infact, there is very little in the ENTIRE STATE of Iowa. One of the two best friends I made last year TRANSFERRED, and the other one will NOT be living by me… and will be highly occupied with sorority things… This means that while I may meet other people, I’ll be pretty freaking lonely. I would also like to transfer to a Top 50 business school, preferably a school that has things around it, like… buildings, and people. There is MINIMAL diversity (if you can even call it that) at Iowa State. Essentially, Ames gets excessively lonely and boring.
I suppose right now, I’m leaning towards the NOT transferring… and graduating early… (Thank God!)
I would write about more… But it is getting late. I must wake up early to go to UIUC!!
ANYWAYS! I have a phone interview for an internship with GE CDF (General Electric Commerical Distribution Finance) ON MONDAY!! Any words of advice for my FIRST phone interview would be MOST appreciated!!
Thanks!!
LOVE,
Rachel
