I LOVE America. And Hinsdale.
Even as a non-conservative and an only moderately-patriotic citizen, I just wanted to say to ridiculous people who constantly complain about America:
IF AMERICA SUCKED SO BADLY, WHY DO MILLIONS OF PEOPLE SNEAK OVER THE BORDERS TO BE HERE? How many non-convicts do you see sneaking over the border to get into Mexico looking for a better life? YEA. SORRY. Didn’t get the memo on that one.
And as someone who grew up in the affluent suburb of Hinsdale, I definitely realize that there are a PLETHORA of spoiled children and bratty girls (and boys) who are spawned here, but WHY DO YOU THINK THAT IS? People are just raising their children poorly. Complaining about how “everyone is fake” and “materialistic” is not really the problem of HINSDALE, but the problem of the people who perpetuate these values and stereotypes. Hinsdale is not that bad. Really.
[Most] people who live in Hinsdale are extremely hard working people who had to save up and move here so that:
-Their children could have an exceptional quality of education
-Their children could have more opportunities
-They wouldn’t have to worry about getting shot on the streets
-They can live among successful and friendly neighbors
-They can hop on one of the three train stations to go Downtown (I love the train.)
For all of Hinsdalians, you should value the exceptional quality of education offered by the public schools here; appreciate that Ferrari and Maserati dealership around the corner, and the Lamborghini and Bentley dealerships down the street; and soak up how cute the “Village” of Hinsdale really is.
Because if nothing else…
…It is definitely cuter than Ames.
