One out of every eight black men go to prison?!?!?!

How extremely sad is that. I can barely believe this. On CNN, they are talking about how so many black men spend time in jail and how much we pay for each prison inmate. Did you know that we (as Americans) pay $20,000 per inmate each year?? There are about 3 million inmates and that baffles me. While I realize that the possibility of not having ANY convicted felons is impossible, but my goodness, 3,000,000 people?? That means that you could be putting 3,000,000 kids to college every year– but instead, the money is being spent on really cool people who rob banks, steal cars, and rape children. That makes me so happy.
